A day inland · Silves

Give the old streets time

A castle of red stone, sloping old streets and a lower town to explore at your own pace. A day in Silves need not be a race to the highest point.

Choose your own climb

Castelo de Silves is the focal point of a possible visit. The old town’s cobbles, slopes and castle steps can be demanding. Look at the route before setting out, build in pauses and choose the lower streets if the climb is unsuitable for your group.

Check before the journey

Consult the official castle page for current visitor information. Confirm your date, opening, last admission and any closures directly before travel. The guide’s October 2026 source review is background information, not confirmation of admission on the day you choose.

Leave the afternoon flexible

Spend time in the streets that interest you, then decide whether to linger or return to Pêra. Transport, admission and any food or guiding are arranged independently. No excursion, reserved entry or third-party service is included in a stay at ORIGEM.
